+ U.S. DOT Lithium-Ion Battery Transportation Training

9:00am - 10:15am | Monday, November 14th This presentation will cover the U.S. DOT’s Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration’s perspective on lithium batteries, specifically as it relates to transportation and recycling. We’ll highlight lessons learned from recent incidents involving batteries and ongoing safety efforts by the Department. Additionally, this workshop will go over lithium battery transportation requirements, highlighting transportation for recycling and reuse.

Want to learn how to be recognized by the entire wireless industry? WISE Certification might be the right fit for you. WISE stands for Wireless Industry Service Excellence. This certification program was developed by the industry, for the industry. A collaborative effort across wireless carriers, device manufacturers, insurance companies, independent repair shops, and leaders in reverse logistics. WISE is focused on building consumer confidence while supporting the phone repair eco-system.
Join CTIA, the trade association for telecommunications industry and the producers of WISE Certification, for a more in-depth view of what the WISE Certification means, the components of the certification and the process. Topics include common smartphone features, anatomy of a smartphone, common repair tools, warranty overview, diagnosis and triage process and much more. After this prep course, you will be ready to take the online exam to be officially WISE certificated!

+ LIVE: Introduction to Data Destruction Operations V2

The Introduction to Electronic Data Destruction Operations Course is the only independent, SERI approved Data Sanitization training. The course, taught by Tom Delich with Greeneye Partners, is designed to educate participants on the basics of data destruction processes in electronics recycling and reuse environments, and enable participants to identify the potential threats, vulnerabilities, inconsistencies and incompatibilities that can impact data destruction operations. In this live course, we will cover terms & definitions, common data destruction methods including physical destruction, degaussing and data wiping procedures and their associated strengths & weaknesses, quality control, reporting and employee training. Upon completion of the presentation, participants will have the option to take an exam and receive a training certificate valid for one year. This certificate demonstrates competency of the Learner and enables them the ability to conduct data sanitization audits for non-R2 downstream vendors.
